SCT LINK RULES AND REGULATIONS
By boarding the bus and paying the fare, riders are accepting and agreeing to abide by the following rules and regulations. SCT Link reserves the right to deny service to anyone disregarding these rules.
- Have your fare ready when you board the bus. You must have exact change. The driver does not carry change or give credit. Before paying your fare, make sure you are on the correct bus. If you put your fare in the fare box, it will not be returned to you. Riders should not “flush” the fare box
- Please use the handrails for safety
- No smoking on or within 20 feet of the bus. This includes electronic cigarettes, and any other smoking or vaping devices
- No swearing, cursing, or offensive language. Be respectful of other riders
- No spitting on the bus or in the bus stop area
- Food and drinks must be in closed containers, and may not be consumed on the bus. Water may be consumed on the bus, but should be in a spill-proof container
- Footwear with wheels is not allowed to be worn on the bus
- Appropriate clothing, including shoes and shirts, is required
- Mobility devices must be secured. Riders may transfer from their mobility device to a bus seat for their trip
- All riders must wear seat belts
- Remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop
- Please limit the number of packages you bring aboard the bus. Drivers are not required to lift heavy packages. No packages may be placed in the aisles or where they may spill
- Children must be removed from strollers
- Strollers and carts must be folded and stowed between seats, or secured in the wheelchair area. They may not be placed in the aisles
- No littering on the bus or in the bus stop area
- Do not talk to the driver while the bus is in motion, except in an emergency
- Do not distract the driver or annoy other riders with inappropriate behavior
- Service animals are permitted for riders with disabilities, but must be under the control of the rider at all times
- Pets may be transported in a closed, secure container. The pet must stay in the closed container for the duration of the trip
- Radios, iPods, MP3 players, etc may only be listened to through earphones, and at such a volume that other riders cannot hear
